PALE FLUO DOT is a new commission comprising a performance by Amnesia Scanner and an installation by Jenna Sutela. Marking the ceremonial opening of the Planetary Summit, organised by the Berggruen Institute, PALE FLUO DOT is presented by LAS on 22 November at Palazzo Diedo, Venice, and coincides with the closing weekend of the 60th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia.
In PALE FLUO DOT, Amnesia Scanner and Jenna Sutela join forces to create an immersive audiovisual experience that reflects the themes of the Planetary Summit, which brings together critical thinkers and practitioners from around the world to make connections between the scientific, philosophical and political dimensions of The Planetary.
On entering PALE FLUO DOT, audiences encounter Amnesia Scanner’s dynamic music set, featuring AI-driven instruments and experimental verses, accompanied by Jenna Sutela’s new video installation capturing the rhythms of glowworms, fireflies, bioluminescent algae and other organisms that emit light to communicate. Pulsing light and fog fill the room, which, combined with the audio and visual elements, create an otherworldly environment reminiscent of submarine or extraterrestrial space.
