Uns reizt das Unbekannte. Das Experimentieren ist der Schlüssel zu den Arbeitsmethoden sowohl der Kunst als auch der Wissenschaft. Gemeinsam mit dem Museum für Naturkunde Berlin möchten wir neue Formen der Wissenschaftskommunikation anregen und alternative Wege entwickeln, die Öffentlichkeit zu involvieren. In unserer Zusammenarbeit untersuchen wir, wie wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse greifbar gemacht werden können, indem wir den Schnittpunkt zwischen Wissenschaft und der menschlichen Erfahrung in den Fokus rücken. Gerade im Zeitalter des Anthropozäns, einer neuen, menschlich geprägten Epoche, braucht es eine enge Verzahnung unterschiedlicher Disziplinen, um die Herausforderungen von heute und morgen zu bewältigen. Mit dem anregenden Dialog zwischen zwei unterschiedlichen Formen des kritischen Denkens möchten wir eine neue Kultur des Wissens und Lernens vorantreiben.
Die visionäre und kreative Kraft der Kunst und die Erkenntnisperspektive der Wissenschaft können sich gegenseitig inspirieren. Die Feuchtgebiete in und um Berlin sowie der Fluss Panke sind perfekte Schauplätze für einen solchen interdisziplinären Ansatz. Im Mittelpunkt unserer Wissensvermittlung steht der Wunsch, das Verständnis für Wissenschaft als Prozess zu fördern und Partizipation zu stärken. Wir wollen die Gesellschaft befähigen, für Natur aktiv zu werden. Unser WissensFluss-Programm bietet für alle Interessierten kosten- freie Führungen durch Feuchtgebiete – sowohl persönlich als auch digital – sowie diverse Workshops und Veranstaltungen, mit denen wir Menschen erreichen und vernetzen wollen. Die kostenfreie Naturblick-Plattform und die dazugehörige App enthält zudem zahlreiche Anregungen und Informationen, um die urbane Natur Berlins zu erkunden.

A walk along the Panke to the Südpanke Park (1.7 km). You will learn about the history of the former ‘gushing river’, how renaturation along the Panke takes place today and check the water quality along the different river sections.

Along the water channels of the Spreewald, we take you to the origins of Berl-Berl. ‘Berl’, the Slavic word for swamp, is considered the origin of the word ‘Berlin’ and is the title of Jakob Kudsk Steensen’s exhibition in the Halle am Berghain. Water ecology excursion Spandauer Forst
Discover a unique wetland in Spandauer Forst with a focus on its biodiversity and its historical context. Rare aquatic species find a suitable habitat here, as do various birds, reptiles and mammals. The excursion offers interesting insights into this lesser-known ecosystem and highlights its fragility and need for protection.

WissensFluss - Explore nature with a bat detector and torch
A night hike into the world of Berlin’s bats, where you can listen to their ultrasonic calls with a detector and follow their hunt for insects. Afterwards, you can rediscover lost species of the wetlands around Berlin and the Panke river with torches in the nocturnal Natural History Museum.

Bike excursion - just follow the Panke (17 km)
An exploration of urban nature along the Panke. We follow the cycling path along the Panke to Buch. Detours to the Karpfenteiche, the Karower Teiche and the Moorlinse are planned. The tour ends with a picnic in the countryside near Buch.

Along the water channels of the Spreewald, the project WissensFluss takes you to the origins of Berl-Berl. It revives lost perspectives on the marshlands by connecting Berlin's current marshlands, the species and mythologies that once inhabited them. Philipp Juranek links this virtual world to the special characteristics of this natural habitat, its biodiversity and the historical context of this unique body of water. The focus is on illustrating ecological connections using various examples from the bird world.Philipp Juranek has loved birds ever since he can remember. To this day, there is nothing in the world that makes his heart beat as fast as our birds. But it doesn't always have to be the rare or somehow special species that trigger this special feeling of happiness in Philipp - even the chaffinch or the sparrow that you meet almost every day can do it. That's the great thing about bird love: happiness is waiting everywhere, around the next corner - and it wants to be discovered.
